President's Note

Hello ILEA Los Angeles,

This year I would like to focus on friendship and relationships. I would like to take the time to genuinely get to know one another as peers, allies, mentors. The ILEA NCC chapter was a key to my career success, as a young sales manager. I joined ILEA with the support of a long time preferred caterer, Small Potatoes Catering. I quickly joined the Membership Committee and started to make genuine connections in the event industry. This was at a time where I was reestablishing myself in San Francisco saw real potential in an industry that welcomed me with open arms. I hope to build on a growing chapter here in LA and install the same comradery among peers. We work in an industry that does not sleep and caters to the entertainment of our clients. ILEA gives us the opportunity to be social and reap the benefits of behind the scene perks to share with one another so we can truly share business based on experience of each individual has to offer. We hope to push each other to get to know each other on a more personal level…

I would like to thank Erika Lohmar & Jamie Snively for their patience and guidance as we re-build the ILEA Los Angeles brand along with an expanding Board.  We are proud to be sending four of our Board Members to ILEA Live this year in Calgary for Leadership Training. From this training we hope to learn from other leaders in the Event Industry from all of the world and continue to strengthen our ILEA LA Chapter.

I would like to challenge each of you to step outside of your comfort zone this year and get to know your neighbor. Ask them for more than a business card.
